Johnny Velvet

Hey there, I’m Jon Taylor, a Lubbock, Texas, guy who’s all about music, family, and making things with my hands. In 2010, I started Johnny Velvet to print T-shirts for local bands, pouring my love for the music scene into every design. What kicked off as a small gig has grown into a family-run shop where we create custom screen prints, embroidery, and promo stuff like stickers and enamel pins that help brands stand out.

My wife, Lindsay, and I tied the knot in 2015, and she’s the heart behind Wallflower Beauty Parlor right next door. Together, we’re raising our three daughters—who are growing up in the buzz of our family-owned business. You’ll probably bump into them if you swing by, adding their giggles and spark to the shop. 

Music’s my soul—I’ve been running Mount Vernon Studios since 2006, producing tracks and hosting the Lubbock Listening Room, where I set up acoustic shows with top-notch sound and lights. When I’m not in the studio or shop, you’ll find me outdoors, hunting, fishing, or nerding out over dinosaurs and ancient Egypt. I’m the guy who can fix or build just about anything. Johnny Velvet is where my family, my passions, and my community come together, and I’d love for you to be part of it.
